1. Information Yatzar Academy collects from and about you (including personal information)

Browsing the Yatzar Academy website and courses, creating a Yatzar Academy account, signing up to receive more information about courses, and communicating with Yatzar Academy: Yatzar Academy gathers information from users when they register for a Yatzar Academy account or request more details about courses available on the Yatzar Academy website. This typically includes basic details such as name, username, email address, and country of residence upon registration. While additional profile information is optional, it can be provided voluntarily. Additionally, when users seek further information about courses, their contact details are required to facilitate communication. Any messages sent to Yatzar Academy, whether through the website or other platforms like social media, also contribute to the information collected. Users have the option to unsubscribe from promotional emails from Yatzar Academy by simply clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided in the emails.

Yatzar Academy also automatically collects information about your visit to the Yatzar Academy Site when you browse courses on the Yatzar Academy Site, as explained in our Cookie Policy.

1.2. Enrolling in courses: When you enroll in courses on the Yatzar Academy website, we gather information from you. For instance, if you enroll in a course that requires payment for access or eligibility for a Verified Certificate of Achievement, we collect Personal Information to facilitate payment processing through our third-party vendor. A Verified Certificate of Achievement (“Certificate”) is a digital certificate confirming successful course completion.

Please note that Yatzar Academy does not directly collect or retain financial account numbers or government-issued identification. Instead, if you decide to make a purchase, you’ll be redirected to our third-party payment processor. Without submitting the necessary payment details, you won’t be able to proceed with your purchase.

Moreover, when you enroll in a course on the Yatzar Academy website, the Instructor offering the course will receive Personal Information from your Yatzar Academy account profile. Additionally, information about your visit to the Yatzar Academy site is automatically collected, as detailed in our Cookie Policy.

1.3. Children’s information: We do not direct the Yatzar Academy Site to, nor do we knowingly collect any Personal Information via the Yatzar Academy Site from, children under the age of 13. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to us through our websites or Service(s), please contact us and we will endeavour to delete that information and terminate the child’s account from our databases.

Product and service offerings: We use collected information to facilitate course enrolment, participation, and effective learning, enabling purchases such as Certificates, and inviting participation in market research. This is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations under the Terms and Conditions and enhance our offerings to provide high-quality online courses.

2.4. Security and performance maintenance: Information collected aids in maintaining the security and performance of the Yatzar Academy platform, including detecting violations of terms and monitoring site usage. This is done to meet legal obligations and ensure uninterrupted platform availability.

They are prohibited from using or sharing your information for other purposes and are required to maintain confidentiality and employ reasonable security measures. Additionally, Third-Party Content integrated with the Yatzar Academy platform is governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, and users’ interactions with such content are subject to those policies.

3.3. With other learners and visitors: Information may be shared with other learners in courses you take and with other visitors to the Yatzar Academy platform to foster an interactive learning environment, support class participation, and facilitate information sharing. This includes sharing comments, coursework, or other submitted content within designated areas of the platform. Your username, rather than your real name or email address, is provided to others for communication purposes.

3.4. With sponsors and affiliates: If your course enrolment is sponsored by an entity, information may be shared with them to confirm your participation and progress. Additionally, Personal Information shared with affiliates of Yatzar Academy, will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3.5. For legal or safety reasons: We may access or disclose your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests, or to address matters related to public safety. Information may also be disclosed to protect the security of the Yatzar Academy platform, investigate potential violations of our policies, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

3.6. Pursuant to business transfers: In the event of a sale, acquisition, or transfer of business assets, information collected about you may be transferred to the acquiring entity. 4.1. Access and correction: You can access and update your Personal Information at any time through your Yatzar Academy account settings. While we strive to provide you with access to your information, there may be limitations based on practicality or legal requirements. For instance, we may retain older versions of your information for auditing purposes or to comply with legal obligations.

4.2. Restrict or object to processing: You can manage the emails and communications you receive from Yatzar Academy by updating your preferences in your account dashboard or contacting learner support. If you unsubscribe from promotional emails, you may still receive communications from providers you haven’t unsubscribed from directly. 4.3. Delete account and personal information: If you wish to delete your Yatzar Academy account and Personal Information, you can do so by clicking the “Delete my account” button in your account settings. This action is irreversible, and we may require you to complete an authentication process to confirm your request.

4.4. Data retention: Yatzar Academy retains your Personal Information as long as your account is active or as necessary to fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. If you enroll in courses offered by Members, they will also retain your information for similar purposes. Upon request, Yatzar Academy will deactivate your account and delete your information, including archiving course data for scientific research purposes as permitted by law.

Please note that Yatzar Academy cannot track or manage all instances where learners voluntarily share Personal Information on the platform. Therefore, we encourage careful consideration before sharing Personal Information.

 

5. Categories of information we collect and disclose

5.1. Personal identifiable information: We may collect the following personal information from you in the following situations:

5.1.1. When you visit our website and voluntarily provide the following information via one of our contact forms, via a chat or phone session, or as part of a purchase of one of our courses or when you register on our site:

    • Information about your business: such as company name, company size, and business type.
    • Your account details: which may include billing information and the account password. Note: All payment transactions are processed through secure payment gateway providers. We do not store any card information (other than the last 4 digits of your card) on our servers.

Regardless of whether you have registered yourself under DND or DNC or NCPR service, you still authorize us to contact you for the above-mentioned purposes.

5.4. Data retention periods: Yatzar Academy will retain your Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to: provide you with services you have requested; maintain a record of your transactions for financial reporting, audit, and compliance purposes; or comply with Yatzar Academy’s legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and as otherwise permitted by applicable law. Upon your request that Yatzar Academy deactivate your account and delete your information, Yatzar Academy will, within 30 days of your request, including, without limitation, archiving your course data (in a manner and to the extent permitted under applicable law) to serve its mission to enable scientific research on cognitive science and education. These archives will be used to produce encrypted research data packages for Members, and each such Member may also keep and use course data for scientific research.

 

6. Cookies and other tracking technologies
Yatzar Academy employs both persistent and session cookies, along with similar technologies, to offer a personalized browsing experience and remember your preferences, such as login credentials and language settings. These cookies are primarily stored to ensure that upon your return to the platform, it can tailor your browsing experience, including automatically logging you in. This data may also be combined with other information we have about you, where permitted by applicable laws. These cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be accessed by your web page server within our domain. You have the option to disable our cookies or all cookies through your browser settings. Additionally, at the onset of each visit to the platform, you are provided with the choice to disable all non-essential cookies for service provision. Yatzar Academy stores information, including Personal Information, on its own servers and on servers of companies that Yatzar Academy hires to provide services. Each Member also stores information, including Personal Information, on its own servers and/or on servers of companies that the Member hires to provide services. In each case, information may be stored in the United States and in other countries where Yatzar Academy or a Member operates, and in countries where Yatzar Academy and each Member’s respective service providers operate. If you are in the European Union, Switzerland, or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, you acknowledge that Yatzar Academy and each Member may transfer, process and store your Personal Information in the United States and other countries, the privacy laws of which may be considered less strict than those of your region.

Yatzar Academy controls its own copy of information collected through the Yatzar Academy Site and has an information security program designed to protect information in its possession or control. This is done through a variety of privacy and security policies, processes, and procedures. Yatzar Academy uses administrative, physical, and technical safeguards that reasonably and appropriately protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information that it collects, receives, stores, or transmits. Nonetheless, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure; and therefore, Yatzar Academy cannot guarantee its absolute security. If a Member learns of a security breach involving that Member’s copy of your Personal Information, the Member may attempt to notify you electronically so that you may take appropriate protective steps. By enrolling in a Member’s course on the Yatzar Academy Site or providing Personal Information to the Member, you agree that the Member can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your course enrolment and participation. If a security systems breach occurs, the affected Member may post a notice on the Yatzar Academy site and/or send an email to you at the email address associated with your enrolment in the Member’s course on the Yatzar Academy Site. Depending on where you are located, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach, involving your Personal Information.

In the event of a security breach involving personal information, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authorities within 72 hours, where required by applicable law.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), your personal data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside the EEA, including India, where data protection laws may differ. We implement industry-standard safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure your data is adequately protected.
